Japanese carmaker Toyota’s luxury vehicle division “Lexus” has launched its third product LX 450d SUV in India at Rs 2.32 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has showcased the LX alongside the RX crossover and ES sedan during its India debut but had kept prices for the SUV under the wrap at that time. This SUV is available in a single top-of-the-line model with a V8 diesel engine and across 7 colour options.
The 7-seater cabin comes with a two-tone leather with a deep brown option for the dashboard and dark beige for the upholstery. The vehicle fully loaded with luxury features as expected – which, includes full LED illumination for the headlights, cornering lamps, fog lights, and taillights along with signature Lexus grille. From inside, the car comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation support with an integrated 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference sound system. It also has 4-zone climate control, 8-inch displays for rear occupants, wireless charging port in the centre console and 4-Camera Multi-Terrain back monitor system.
Under the hood, the India-spec Lexus LX450d (only non-hybrid vehicle in Lexus India’s product portfolio) uses a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine producing 270bhp/650Nm of torque. The oil burner comes paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission with an AWD system which can be operated through a terrain management system. With a weight well over 3.3 tons, LX450d can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.1 seconds and can race to the top speed at 210 kmph.
Lexus LX 450d will directly compete with the Range Rover 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography trim which is priced at Rs 2.27 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle will be imported into the country through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
