At this year’s IAA, Toyota unveiled its new Land Cruiser, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic Prius, introduced Toyota C-HR HY-POWER concept car.
2018 Toyota Land Cruiser
The new Toyota Land Cruiser is 60 mm longer than its predecessor and gets new alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches which add to the character of the SUV. There are two new paints too that Toyota has introduced and they’re named Avant-Garde Bronze metallic and Midnight Emerald Blue.
The cabin has undergone a significant change and Toyota has tweaked everything from the dashboard to the switchgear. There’s a bigger 8-inch display for the infotainment system, a 4.2-inch color central screen in the instrument cluster, a new steering wheel and white illumination for the instrument panel.
The 2018 Land Cruiser will be available with a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel, churning out 177 bhp and 450 Nm torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and there’s a 6-speed manual on offer too. The petrol is a 2.7-litre mill producing 161 bhp and 246 Nm torque. There’s also a 4.0-litre petrol that punches out 249 bhp and 381 Nm torque.
New safety technology from Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of driver assists is available, but is fitted to high-grade models as standard. The package includes a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and automatic high-beam. A blind spot monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert is also available.
20th Anniversary of Toyota Prius
Earlier this year the original hybrid reached its 20th anniversary, with the 4th generation model being the lucky car to mark this special birthday.
The new battery pack has the ability to recharge 28% faster than its predecessor the 3rd generation Prius and there are 4 driving options available; Eco, Normal, Sport and Power so you can pick the best-suited driving mode to match your type of driving. In the new 2016 model, Toyota has repositioned the nickel-metal hydride battery pack which has moved further to the rear seats and as a result, has freed up 10% extra boot space taking the capacity up to 502 liters. This is plenty of room for weekly shopping and your family’s luggage.

Toyota C-HR HY-POWER Concept
The more powerful hybrid powertrain is at the heart of the new Toyota C-HR HY-POWER Concept. The car has been revealed with new matt Dark Carbon silver paint, dramatically contrasted by dazzling use of an anodized Burning Orange finish, and is carried forward in the interiors with a tone-on-tone approach the combines black upholstery and trim with Burning Orange details.
The concept has been developed by Toyota’s European design center is based on the new hybrid powertrain that offers more power than the 122 DIN HP system featured in the current production C-HR, reflecting a strategic future development of Toyota’s world-leading technology of higher performance hybrid options made available in all its core models.
